The Salomon Shift Pro 110 W Alpine Touring Boots are the lady-oriented equivalent to the slightly stiffer, slightly more beige Shift Pro 130. If you're looking for a boot that can handle large amounts of resort shredding, uphill slogging, and other ski-related, energy-exerting endeavors, this is the boot for you. Its four buckles and full TPU construction give this boot attitude. The MTN Explore W was formerly the premier ladies' free-touring boot for Salomon. In comparison, the Shift Pro 110 W provides an even stiffer flex profile (110 compared to the MTN's 90), two added buckles (now with a traditional alpine-style, four buckle setup), a more substantial cuff strap, and replaceable GripWalk soles (nice touch to improve boot durability and binding compatibility). These added features place the Shift Pro 110 W ~150g heavier than the S/Lab MTN, pretty good for a significant increase in downhill skiability and overall durability.

The Shift Pro 110 shell is modeled after its high-performance on-piste sister (S/Pro 110 W). An added SureLock walk mechanism (the same technology as the MTN Explore W walk mech) provides a very similar range of motion to the MTN Explore W. Is the Shift Pro 110 W a beautiful harmony of S/Pro skiability and MTN Explore uphill prowess? It looks like it! This boot is just as comfortable spinning laps on the resort as it is breaking trail in the backcountry while providing uncompromised downhill skiing performance in exchange for a little bit of added [training] weight. If you're looking for a ski boot to trust when the going gets fast and tough, choose the Salomon Shift Pro 110 W.
